Escape the city and explore Montserrat Mountain.
Montserrat Tour
half day
This is a 5 hour tour to visit a historical monastery perched atop a spectacular rocky mountain, home to a community of Benedictine monks and a renowned boys’ choir, one of the oldest in Europe.
The views are truly breathtaking!
On the left you can see the Monastery from Saint Michael cross
And this is the Saint Michael cross from the Monastery
This is the cross of Sant Michael’s.
It is a 45 minutes to one hour walk to go and come back.
We can visit the Basilica of the Monastery and even touch the Black Madonna
Escolania Choir Performance
The Escolania Choir sings every day except Saturdays and school holidays at 1 PM (Sundays at Noon), performing two beautiful hymns: the Salve and the Virolai, dedicated to the Virgin Mary. The Basilica tends to fill up quickly, so for the best experience, we recommend arriving 30 minutes early to secure a good standing spot close to the altar (or an hour early if you’d prefer to sit).
As the choir performance approaches, a monk will read passages from the Gospels in various languages and invite everyone to join him in praying the Our Father.
It’s important to note that the singing is considered a sung prayer rather than a concert, so it’s not appropriate to clap at the end.
Montserrat Tour
Full Day
This is an 8 hour tour to visit Montserrat and a winery.
First, we will visit Montserrat and then we will drive around one hour to the beautiful Penedès area, often referred to as the Catalan Tuscany. Here, we’ll visit one of the best wineries in the region and enjoy a delightful wine tasting experience.
Afterward, we’ll have a lovely lunch in the area before heading back to Barcelona around 4:30 PM.
This tour can be done in 8 or 9 hours. We’ll leave Barcelona at 8:30 AM, returning by 4:30 or 5:30 PM, depending on your preference.
We also offer another option: Sitges. After visiting the winery, we can drive to the charming coastal village of Sitges for lunch. For this option, we’ll need at least 9 to 10 hours, especially if you’d like to take some time to stroll around the village (which we highly recommend!).
